Killer Weather Can Equal Killer Pests
One of the facts of life that come with weather changes is that with each weather change comes a new pest. Thankfully, as technology has advanced property owners now know what to look for to keep the properties that they own pest free.
Winter Pests
With the winter months come an increase in age old pets like cockroaches, ants, termites and spiders. These critters go indoors searching for warmth to avoid the harsh, wet weather conditions that come with winter weather. To avoid these pests anyone who owns their own home or commercial building should inspect that building before the start of every weather to make sure that the interior and exterior of the building is properly weatherized and insure that all access points are closed so pests can’t make their way indoors.
Summer Pests
When summer arrives more pests will be literally coming out of the woodwork to enjoy the summer weather as well. Some of the most common summer pests are: June Bugs, house flies, bats, squirrels and raccoons. To keep these pests from ruining the summer months any home owner should make sure that the property surrounding their home is free of trash and other debris that pests are attracted to. This might be especially hard to do after a nice summer barbecue but it’s important to avoid the long term hassle that can come from pests.
Fall Pests
As the weather starts to get a little cooler across the country, the average pest recognizes this and like humans they will be taking steps to protect themselves by seeking shelter and warmer environments. Some of the most common pests during fall months are cockroaches, centipedes and silverfish. To avoid these pests any home or building owner should make sure that the interior of their buildings is properly weatherized, especially in bathrooms where most pests are attracted to standing water.
